PRESS RELEASE
D & H/United Pump supply partnership brings advanced "Blue technology" to Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado
Diesel emissions have been under scrutiny for years as potential causes of respiratory ailments and other environmental concerns including increases in greenhouse gases like oxides of nitrogen (NOx). So much so that the Environmental Protection Agency instituted Tier2 emissions standards directly aimed at reducing oxidesof nitrogen production in all newdiesel truck engines beginning in 2010.
The mandated emissions reduction could present major challenges for many transportation-based companies, but D & H/United Pump Supply embraced the proposed change and is now poised to lead the Southwestern U.S. intoan era of green... or blue as it maybe, growth.
D & H/United Pump Supply have entered into an exclusive partnership with Blue1 USA, makers of innovative Diesel Exhaust Fluid dispensing equipment (DEF)- a key component of new low NOx exhaust systems. This exclusive partnership will cover ten major markets in the Southwestern U.S.

DEF is a mixture of distilled or deionized water and urea which is commonly found in many agricultural fertilizers, to scrub NOx emissions out of the exhaust as it travels through the engine's catalytic converter. The resulting emissions are primarily comprised of H20 and nitrogen. Diesel Exhaust Fluid, a clear, colorless, non-toxic, and non-flammable liquid, is an integral partof the new low emission diesel engine design. If a DEF outfitted diesel engines travels without the liquid it will be electronically governed to operate at very low speeds until the DEFsupply is replenished.
"This technology represents a fundamental shift in the transportation sector. DEF will become as vital to diesel engines as gasoline is to most combustion engines today- you can't run with out it. D & H/United Pump Supply is at the forefront of the clean diesel revolution and will play a major role in DEFdistribution in this part of the country," said company spokes person, Bud Moore.
D & H/United Pump Supply and Blue1 USA will embarkon a 10 city "Blue is the New Green" tour to introduce the new advanced technology and field questions from the media and transportation-based companies about its implications to the industry and to the environment. The tour will launch in El Paso on November 20, 2009 and will conclude on December 16th in Houston.
